The walk starts from the Harnabarréa car park at the exit of Louhossoa towards Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (you can also park 300 m further on, there are three spaces along the road just before a dirt track that leads out of a wood).
(S/E) Follow the tarmac road and turn right after 500 m.
(1) At an intersection, take the road that climbs uphill and turns into a path, reaching the first peak of the day. Pass the "Forêt des Lapins" path and follow the road to the D119.
(2) Cross it carefully and head to the village (via the main street) with its pelota court and church. Take the D119 towards Helette.
(3) On leaving Louhossoa, turn right after the small bridge and climb until you find a path on the left with a gate and a grazing area sign.
(4) Go up the path. You will find the first hut under the trees on the right. Further up, you will come to a crossroads with several paths.
(5) Turn left at the water tank and follow the path.
(6) Further on to the right, you will see an abandoned sheepfold on the edge of a field of ferns. This is an ideal spot for a picnic with a magnificent view of Louhossoa.
After a break, if you wish, take the path back down to the D119.
(7) Turn left towards the village. Be careful on the road!
(8) Further on, take thesecond road on the right to make a small circular loop that returns to the D119.
(9) Cross this road again and go straight up the first tarmac road, which turns into a dirt track and passes in front of a house, then take the track opposite.
(10) When you reach a small tarmac road, turn left at the crossroads.
(4) Turn right onto a stony path which, following the reverse route of the outward journey, takes you back to the car park where you started (S/E).
