There is parking for around ten cars at Oihanetxeberria.
(S/E) Head east towards Baïgura for 50 m and take the path that climbs up to the right. After 400 m, leave the path that continues to the left and take the path that continues straight ahead.
(1) Pass afirst sheepfold, then asecond. Continue along the clearly visible path.
(2) When you reach the Col de Chancho, cross the meadow and continue climbing to the left. After 250 m, you will have two options.
(3) A direct route (the one marked) or a small detour to the left, which is easier to climb. Reach elevation 593.
Then continue to the small pass between Haltzamendi and Baïgura.
(4) After taking a moment to admire the Cirque du Baïgura, take the ridge on the left to the summit of Baïgura.
(5) From here, you have countless places to stop for a snack.
From Baïgura, begin the descent along the ridge, heading north. Take this ridge, which presents no difficulty.
Pass two orientation tables, then Erregelu and continue along the ridge, heading east, until you reach elevation 642.
(6) At this point, make a hairpin turn and continue your descent, heading north. Continue along the well-marked path and look for the "Baïgura discovery trail".
(7) From elevation 604, it follows almost the same contour line to the north-west, crossing the Aran 200 m downstream from its source.
(8) It crosses a path and arrives at the concrete road that climbs up to Baiïgura.
(9) When you reach it, take the concrete road on the left and climb for about 100 m, then take a path on the right (route described).
Be careful not to take a path that follows the concrete road below it. Always take the path on the right. This leads to the fern meadow.
There is an alternative route that avoids the ferns, especially in summer when they are very dense. Turn right and follow the concrete road for 300 m, then take the path on the left, which will allow you to resume the hike while avoiding the ferns and ticks.
(10) Continue in the same direction through the ferns, heading north-west. You will inevitably come to a path. Take it on the left.
Continue down this path, which will take you to the car park at Oihanetxeberria (S/E).
