Park in the large car park located after the Allauch equestrian centre on Chemin du Garlaban.
(S/E) Go up Chemin du Garlaban then straight on along the DFCI track. Continue in the same direction and arrive at Col de Cante-Perdrix at an altitude of 390 metres.
(1) Turn right towards Grande Tête Rouge (signposted on a rock). You will arrive at a Y-junction at an elevation of 454 metres.
(2) Keep left, heading north-east (there used to be a signpost here). Pass two Y-junctions in succession, keeping left each time. Climb the path towards Pounche des Escaouprés. Pass a cairn.
(3) Climb to the right to the summit. Admire the landscape.
(4) Retrace your steps and look for a path on the right that descends.
(3) Turn right onto this rocky path (yellow markings) which leads to the plain with a signpost and three directions at an elevation of 516 metres.
(5) Take the middle path heading east towards Taoumé, as indicated by the sign. Cross the top of the Escaouprés valley and pass several cairns. You will arrive at a crossroads.
(6) Turn right towards the south. Cross two rocky sections where you will need to use your hands, but this is not difficult. Stay on the right-hand side. You will come to a signpost near the Grosibou Cave. Visit it (you need to be slim to get inside).
(7) Turn right at the sign to climb to the summit of Taoumé (667 m). The landscape is splendid. Descend to the north-east to rejoin the path that leads to the Col de Baume Sourne at an altitude of 623 m.
(8) At the pass, keep to the right and turn right at a rock marked La Treille - Le Garlaban
. Take the path furthest to the left (not signposted), heading south-east. In a rocky left-hand bend, you will see the discreet entrance to Baume Sourne. Visit it. Continue on your way until you reach a Y-junction.
(9) Turn left and you will see Puits du Mûrier. You will arrive at an open area.
(10) Ignore the path that branches off to the right and follow the one that climbs at the end of the open area and joins the Col du Tubé.
(11) Turn left onto the DFCI track which joins the Col de Baume Sourne at an elevation of 623 metres.
(8) Stay on the main track, which descends steadily. Pass an underground cistern and a high-voltage pylon. You will reach the Col de Cante-Perdrix.
(1) Head straight ahead, following the same route as on the way up, to reach the car park (S/E).
