Parking at the Dreieck car park, see Practical information.
(S/E) From the Dreieck, turn your back to the Route des Crêtes and the car park and take theGR® 5 (marked with a red rectangle) which climbs to the right on the ridge towards the south-west. When the path turns right, leave the path and climb to the left onto a small prominence with a view of the Tanet. Return to the path and continue climbing up the ridge. You will arrive at the summit of Tanet.
From Tanet, continue straight ahead and stay on theGR® for about 200 m, following the ridge. You will arrive at a crossroads, at a small pass.
(1) Continue straight ahead on theGR® and the ridge. The trail climbs up to the Haut-Fourneau, then descends and arrives at an intersection
(2) Leave theGR® and the ridge, turn left and descend via the Triangle Bleu marked trail. After about 100 metres, leave the trail on the right to enjoy a view of the Frankenthal-Missheimle reserve and the Hirschsteine rock. Return to the trail and continue descending. Leave the dead-end path that joins on the right and arrive at an intersection with a path marked Chevalet Rouge.
(3) Keep right and continue downhill. You will arrive at a crossroads under the ski lifts, near the Schupferen refuge.
(4) Join a track. Descend along the track (ignore the path that branches off to the left). You will arrive at a new crossroads in a large bend to the right, near the Schanzwasen refuge.
(5) Leave the track and turn left for a few metres until you reach the entrance to a meadow with ski lifts and an alpine hut. Just before the ski lift pole, turn right and follow the Blue-White-Blue Rectangle trail into the forest. After a few dozen metres, it turns left and descends through the meadow, describing a large arc to the right. Finally, it joins the Seestaettle inn.
(6) Take the paved track on the left. At the crossroads, keep left. After the bend to the right, leave the track and take the blue and white rectangle trail on the left. This trail runs alongside the track above and joins Lac Vert.
(7) Turn right and follow the track along the lake on the dam. After the dam, the track veers left and comes to an intersection.
(8) Leave the stony path that climbs opposite and stay on the track that turns right. Further on, in the hairpin bend to the left, leave the path that branches off to the right towards Gaertlesrain. Further on, leave the track that comes in from the right.
The track crosses the stony path for the first time. Stay on the track and keep to the left, leaving the stony path that branches off to the right. The track makes another hairpin bend to the right, crosses the stony path again and arrives at the Chalet Erichson of the Club Vosgien.
Continue climbing on the track that winds to the left and follow it to the Dreieck (S/E).
Very pleasant walk
