Description of the walk

_ Start_: Cross the border at Behobie and go to Oiartzun via GI-2134. On entering Oiartzun, turn left towards Lesaka, then right towards Altzibar. After Altzibar, continue on GI-3631 towards Artikutza.
Reach the Col d'Uzpuru and continue along this road, with the car park on the right.

(S/E) Head East on the GR®121, which climbs along the ridge to the summit of Munagirre.

(1) Continue East along the ridge until you reach the road.

(2) Take the road to the left.

(3) In the bend, go behind the guardrail and fork right to reach a car park. Turn right towards Oianleku I (in Basque, I for Ipar, North, versus H for Hego, South). The path runs alongside pigeon-houses.

Turn left at the crow's feet, towards the clearing at the bottom of the Basate knoll (630 m).

(5) Leave the path on your left, and continue straight on to the cromlech.

(6) After visiting the cromlech, take the same path in the opposite direction.

(5) Turn right onto PR® GI-1006 (PR® for Pequeños Recorrido, short walks, GI for Gipuzcoa, the province). Exit onto a track, keep right and, at the next crow's-foot, turn left onto PR®-GI-1006.

Cross another cross-country track and continue straight ahead until you reach the road; cross over to return to the start car park (S/E).

A hike where all the elevation gain is at the start over a short distance. But that didn't bother three young children aged 7 to 10, and their grandmother reached the summit at her own pace. A very beautiful walk along the ridges. The 1 km stretch of road is less pleasant but safe, and there aren't many cars on this quiet (dead-end) road. The cromlech is well maintained and beautiful to see. The last part is on a wide track that has been partially deforested, which detracts a little from the charm of the landscape.
I still recommend this hike.

Superb tour with breathtaking views of the entire coastline from San Sebastian to the Landes coast.
Lots of pastures and encounters with the animals of the Basque country.
