(S/E) Head north-east and enter the forest, keeping the D62 on your left. Just before leaving the forest to reach a large avenue, turn right to see the stump of the old Mailleroye oak tree (a listed tree).
(1) At the intersection with the large forest avenue of La Mailleroye, turn right and continue straight ahead (east-southeast), ignoring the side roads.
(2) At the intersection with the old railway line (on the right, ruins of the old gatekeeper's cottage), continue straight ahead. At the next crossroads, turn right onto a path. A sign indicates this change of direction. A small bridge allows you to cross the ditch.
(3) At the end of the path, turn right onto the gravel forest road. After about 200 metres, turn left onto a path.
(4) At the end of the path, turn right onto the wide gravel forest track and continue straight ahead to the edge of the forest. Then turn right and continue straight ahead to the car park (S/E).
No difficulty even in muddy weather! A pleasant, easy stroll after a meal, accessible to all.
