Car park at the Grand Beauregard Pond on the right-hand side of the D19 road on leaving the hamlet of Beauregard, in the commune of Demigny, heading towards Chalon-sur-Saône.
Blue markings
(S/E) Walk along the Étang du Grand Beauregard and continue straight ahead, then take a wide, straight, stony forest road. Ignore the paths on either side.
(1) At the end of the forest road, opposite the Étang Bâtard, turn right and continue straight ahead.
(2) At the Bois du Four intersection, turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the D19. Directional sign.
(3) Cross the departmental road with care and head 30 metres to the left to take the paved Rue de Bois Bouton on the right until you reach a fork at Bois Bouton.
(4) At the fork, take a sharp right onto Chemin du Gagne Denier and continue to the edge of the woods.
At the intersection, take the forest road slightly to the right leading to Étang du Chêne Ferré. Pass an old hut with a sign for Bois Linard and continue straight ahead.
(5) Leave the forest road by turning left at the sign for Étang du Chêne Ferré and continue straight ahead. At the junction with the forest road known as Rue des Vaches, first turn left then right and continue straight ahead through the woods to Étang de Bellecroix.
(6) With your back to the pond, go down the dyke and take a small bridge on the left that crosses the Ruisseau du Chambey. Continue to the next intersection, where you turn right onto a wide gravel forest road and continue straight ahead. On your left is the tip of the Étang de Vortoy. Pass through the hamlet of La Meix Humbert and then in front of the hunters' hut.
(7) Go past the large intersection at the bottom of Rue des Vaches for 20 metres and turn left into the forest at the "Forêt des Hospices de Beaune" sign before the metal barrier.
There is a sign for a remarkable tree 400 m away.
(8) At the remarkable Rondelot oak tree, turn right onto the path and continue to the end. At the intersection, turn left onto the Rondelot forest track and continue straight ahead to the next intersection. Leave the forest track on the right.
(9) Turn left and continue straight ahead. The route leads to a wide cart track which leads to the hamlet of Bois Bouton on the right and Étang Neuf on the left.
(10) At the intersection, turn right for 30 metres before leaving the track on the left to enter Bois Tortus. Continue to the next intersection.
(11) At the intersection with the track leading to La Pinaguette, turn left towards Étang du Petit Beauregard (the name Étang de Beauregard is mentioned on the IGN map). Follow the path to reach the Étang du Petit Beauregard dyke and continue to the spillway. 10 m before the spillway, descend from the dyke on your left and take the small wooden bridge to cross the stream.
(12) Leave the edge of the pond and turn left onto a straight path until you reach the end. At the end of the path, take the gravel forest road on the right and continue until you reach the intersection with the D19.
(13) Cross carefully and turn right, walking safely along the hard shoulder to reach the car park (S/E) on your left.
