Park on the Place de l'Église in Volnay.
(S/E) At the end of the square, take the Rue de la Tour opposite, heading north-east, which then becomes the Rue de la Piture. You will come to a Y-junction.
(1) Turn right onto the tarmac road that descends towards the village of Pommard. In the village, head to the church square.
(2) Cross this square, passing by the Artichoke Fountain, and continue north-east along Rue de la Réféne. At the end of the street, continue between the vineyards. You will come to a six-way crossroads.
(3) Take the path halfway up on the left, then turn right after 100 metres to climb north-east between the vineyards. You will come to another large four-way crossroads after 1 kilometre.
(4) Turn left heading north-west, passing the Fontaine de Lulune fountain. You will reach an intersection below Montagne Saint-Désiré, where you will cross theGR®76 trail.
(5) Take thisGR® trail, leave the white path and head north along the line in the woods. At the edge of the woods, walk along the wall of the Battaut farm, turn left and walk along the farm.
(6) Leave theGR® and continue through the woods, crossing the hamlet of Les Chaumes towards Pommard to reach a new crossroads in a clearing.
(7) Turn left heading south, cross Les Chaumes towards Pommard and continue to the hunting lodge located in Sur la Chaume.
(8) Leave the white path on the right and, after 400 metres, at an elevation of 386 metres, turn right onto the trail. After 250 metres, turn left heading south onto the path, then take the trail that descends to an elevation of 381 metres.
(9) Turn left onto the balcony path that joins theGR®76. Pass above a quarry (now a landfill site), turn right to descend south towards Pommard. At the picnic area, leave the road and continue straight downhill. Cross Pommard via Rue du Charmillot.
(10) Leave theGR® and take the tarmac path on the left heading south-west. You will come back to the crossroads you passed at the start.
(1) Continue straight ahead along the same route as on the way out to return to the car park (S/E).
