The starting point is at the intersection of the D41 (Route du Semnoz) and the D241 (Route de Quintal). Parking is available along the Route de Quintal, near the intersection, in a large open space. Cross the D41 to reach the starting point opposite.
(S/E) From the barrier, take the slightly uphill paved road.
(1) Take the first path downhill on the left (the return path is opposite), pass the Sévrier chalet and reach the Route Forestière du Grand Roc.
(2) Take the forest road on the left until the first hairpin bend on the left.
(3) Climb the path on the right (GRP®® signposting). Keep to the right until you reach a crossroads with several paths.
(4) Take the path that climbs up to the far right. At the top of the climb, turn left. When you pass the Croix de Cessenaz sign, don't miss the slight detour (50 m) to enjoy the view of the lake. Continue along the path to the Luzes crossroads.
(5) Go straight ahead. A little further on, keep to the right uphill and pass under the high-voltage power line. After the power line, turn right onto the path towards "Les Gardes". Pass the Bénévent forest track (unpaved) and after a few hairpin bends you will reach the Route Forestière du Bénévent (tarmac).
(6) Take the road uphill to the left for about 50 metres, then follow the path uphill to the right. At the next fork, turn right to arrive at the side of the Bénévent chalet.
(7) Pass in front of the chalet, heading towards the Sevrier chalet. Then take the first path on the right and follow it (the route is obvious) until you approach the high-voltage line.
(8) Take the path on the right to pass under the high-voltage line and rejoin the tarmac road you took at the start.
(1) Turn left to return to the starting point at the bottom of the road at the barrier closing off the paved road (S/E).
