A pleasant hike through the forest covering the slopes of Semnoz, a mountain overlooking Lake Annecy on its western shore. Superb views of the lake and its surroundings are on the menu.

A short walk to start (or finish) your meal in the Forêt Domaniale Verte, where the variety of trees means it’s lovely in autumn (a riot of colours and sunlight filtering through the canopy), but also in summer (shaded except between points (3) and (4)) and in winter and spring too, as it’s magnificent all year round.

This is an easy stroll that allows you to discover some of the footpaths that characterise Bois-Guillaume and the Forêt Domaniale Verte, which is magnificent, especially in autumn. This route can also be done by bicycle.

In the Londe forest, three former clay pits have now become three ponds. Known since Gallo-Roman times, the Terre à Pots site was only exploited from the 16th century until 1870. This clay was notably used to make the white earthenware tiles for the first stations of the Paris Metro. This easy forest walk offers the chance to discover a little-known quarry site.

A short, peaceful walk on the outskirts of Rouen, perfect for getting some fresh air and sunshine. Most of the route passes through fields. There are a few sections of tarmac roads and paths, but this is the price you pay for discovering some very charming villages and hamlets.

This hike will take you from the village of Thônes to the village of Les Clefs, following the Fier river and crossing the Roman bridge. The next stop is the Mont forest with its fallen king and new king. You can learn about the history of this king (the tree tadpoles of Thônes) by visiting the website. On your return to Thônes, you can stroll around this village located at the gateway to the Aravis.
