Le Rocher du Pendu and Les Augustins via the Passerelle de l'Épine footbridge

(S/E) From the church, head up Rue des Abbattis. At the fork, at the war memorial, turn left, pass in front of the Hôtel des Ardennes, then take Rue de la Hate on the left, walk along the cemetery on your right and reach the next street on the left (Rue du Boulet).

(1) Follow this street for about 50 metres before turning right onto a path.
Signposted, among other things, for Rocher du Pendu. At the edge of the woods, ignore the path leading off to the left and, after a steep descent, you will reach a crossroads.

(2) Continue straight ahead, following the same markings, pass another crossroads and arrive at a place called Chemin de Corbion.

No markings

(3) Leave the^GR®® and take the path on the left which leads to the Rocher du Pendu viewpoint without any change in altitude.

(4) Continue along the winding path to the left and descend to the Ruisseau des Curnais, where it meets the Semois.

(5) Turn right along the Semois, cross the former Bouillon municipal campsite (closed in 2024) and continue along the river to the bridge on the left (Pont de Cordemois).

(6) Cross the river via the bridge and climb up opposite. After the steps, turn left, leaving the^GR®®16trail on your right shortly afterwards, and continue along a gently ascending path (Voie Vautier Amont then Voie Vautier) before descending (steep section) to a small road.

(7) Turn right and head towards Cordemois Abbey. Once past the abbey, take the small road on the left leading down to the Ancien Moulin de l'Épine and follow it until you reach the footbridge of the same name.

(8) Cross the bridge and, after crossing the Semois, continue to the right on the path that climbs up to the Moulin de l’Épine viewpoint.

(9) Climb left to the Augustins viewpoint. Beautiful view of the Tombeau du Géant

(10) Continue climbing and join a wide path. Keep going in the same direction at the next junction and continue to the path on the right as you leave the forest. You will reach an inverted Y-shaped fork.

No markings

(11) Take the hairpin bend to the right downhill, then turn left at the picnic area. Stay on the main path, ignoring the paths on the right, and arrive at Gros Hêtre.

(12) Turn left and head towards the Croix de Poupehan. Turn left, then continue along Rue Paul Verlaine and return to Rue des Abattis and the church (S/E).
