Park in the upper car park at the Chastreix-Sancy resort.
(S/E) Go to the end of the car park and follow a stony path on the left for 200 metres to reach a ski slope.
(1) Take it on the left, following a faint path for about 1.5 km. You will reach the Chambasse ski lift.
(2). Turn left and follow it to reach the arrival point of the Puy de Chabane ski lift. Continue to reach the summit of the Tour Carrée and find theGR®30here.
(3). Take it on the right and follow the ridge, quickly reaching the Col de Courre.
(4) Continue along the ridge, pass the Pas de l'Âne and then find the wooden steps to reach the summit of Puy de Sancy.
(5) Continue downhill on theGR®30until you reach the Col de la Cabanne crossroads.
(6) Keep right on the GR®. Pass under the Ferrand ski lift and continue downhill to reach the Col du Couhay crossroads.
(7) Turn right, still on theGR®, marked in white and red, and head for the lower stations of the Col de Couhay and Ferrand Sud ski lifts.
(8) Continue down theGR® to reach the bottom of the Cirque de la Fontaine Salée.
(9) Go through the fence at the bottom of the cirque and leave theGR®30here, turning right onto a pretty path with wooden decking (no dogs allowed sign). Cross the stream, pass the source of the Fontaine Salée and then enter the summer pasture on the right through the small gate after the source. Follow a small path that crosses a large wetland area: be careful, as good footwear is necessary because the ground is often waterlogged. Enter the spruce plantation on the left through a wooden chicane, follow the path for 100 m, then turn right onto a narrow path at the yellow signpost. Continue straight ahead for about 300m before coming out onto a large open area. Take the path on the right that runs along the edge and leads to a ladder to climb over the fence. Take the well-marked path slightly to the left that leads into the mountain pasture and joins another ladder after crossing a small stream. You will arrive at the Buron du Roc de Tuile.
(10) Leave this edge and follow the signposted path to the resort road at the cross-country ski car park and a picnic area.
(11) Here, take the path on the right uphill to Roc de Courlande, then finish by descending. Join the ski lifts at the bottom of the Chastreix-Sancy resort. Cross them and reach the car park (S/E).
