Car park at Le Grand Bornand bus station.
(S/E) Head for the building towards the bell tower that you can see from the car park. A stairway decorated with amusing friezes crosses it and leads to the Place de l'Église. Pass to the left of Place de Grenette and take Chemin de la Forclaz uphill. The steep climb up this street leads to a path, then a staircase. Then carefully cross Route du Chinaillon (D4) to take the path opposite. You will come out on Route des Côtes at a place called Villeneuve.
(1) Take Route des Côtes on the left. The path opposite will be your return route. Follow this road to its end, then take a carriageway that passes between two chalets and then turns into a path. You will then arrive at Route du Replein and turn right.
(2) Turn right again and you will soon come to a stairway that starts on the left. This path leads to a fork with a signpost.
(3) Go up to the left, towards Plan de la Forclaz. After a few hairpin bends, you will come to a wide path. Follow it up to your right until you reach the cross at Plan de la Forclaz.
(4) Continue straight ahead for about 40 metres, then take the downhill path on the right. After a few hairpin bends, at a place called Haut de Villeneuve, continue towards Grand-Bornand.
(5) At the signpost, take the educational trail on your right. Continue down this path, which leads to a road (not shown on IGN maps). Follow it to the left. A little further on, take the path on the right down to the Route des Côtes at Villeneuve.
(1) Continue downhill opposite and take the uphill route to reach the bus station car park (S/E).
