From Haguenau town centre, follow signs for Soufflenheim. Once you reach the D1063 (Route de Soufflenheim), turn left onto Route de Schwabwiller, which leads directly to the Gros-Chêne car park.
Red Heart Markings
(S/E) The route starts to the left of the inn, after the Club Vosgien signs. After 250 m, at the fork by the benches, head to the right. At the next intersection, turn right and continue straight ahead for about 1 km heading south, ignoring the paths to the right and left. Continue to the crossroads at the ends of plots 115 and 116.
(1) Turn left at a 90° angle to enter between plots 100 and 115. Continue along the path for about 1,300 metres, ignoring the various paths on either side. This eastern part of the route is almost perfectly straight.
(2) At the third intersection, turn left twice in succession to go around plot 113. After 800 m, stay on the path that turns left and continue straight ahead at the intersection between plots 125 and 126.
(3) Turn right and continue straight ahead for about 650 m, heading north, ignoring the paths on the right and left.
(4) The path becomes a trail that veers slightly to the right to reach the Eberbach stream. Follow the stream for a few metres before crossing the footbridge. At the intersection at the end of the trail, turn left onto Allée forestière du Gros-Chêne and continue straight ahead.
(5) At the end of Allée forestière du Gros-Chêne, turn left onto Route de Schwabwiller (tarmac road) and cross the Eberbach stream again to return to the Gros-Chêne area (S/E).
