Park in the Tremplin car park.
(S/E) From the car park, follow the track heading south-west for approximately 2.5 km, ignoring any side paths.
You will reach a junction with a sign indicating that the track ends here.
(1) Head uphill to the left, following the yellow and green markings. Initially, this is a fairly wide path which gradually becomes very steep. As the path narrows, take great care on the steep, slippery slopes (especially after rain); this is a very difficult section. You’ll emerge at the Pas de la Bergère.
(2) Head south, still following the yellow and green markings, towards the Moucherotte. The path continues to climb, but the gradients are much less steep than those encountered previously. You will join a track.
(3) Follow the red and white markings ofthe GR®®91and take the track to the left, towards the Moucherotte. You’ll come to a sign pointing to a viewpoint.
(4) Head up to the left, towards the orientation table and Moucherotte. A marvellous 360° panorama unfolds before you. The orientation table allows you to make out all the surrounding peaks.
(5) Turn back and head down to the previous junction.
(4) Head down to the left, towards Saint-Nizier. Pass a mountain refuge and arrive at a junction of paths (not shown on the map).
(6) Ignore the path branching off to the right and stay on theGR®® which heads south. Keep on this path, ignoring any side trails. You’ll reach a track.
(7) Follow the track as it descends to the left. After a hairpin bend to the left, the track turns into a footpath. Be careful: the markings have disappeared and there are no signposts. When yellow and green markings reappear on a tree, take the footpath that descends to the right. At the next junction, turn left, then left again a few metres further on. Later, at the Y-junction, take the right-hand route leading back to the track from the start of the walk. Turn right to return to the Tremplin car park (S/E).
