Description of the walk

Park in the hamlet of Lachal on the Clémencières road (D57).

(S/E) The climb starts after the last house north of Lachal. The path is marked in yellow, but you leave it to continue on the right.
From there, take the left fork at each junction, heading south.
You will come to a right-angled junction; take the path on the right, which descends slightly and leads to theGR®9.

(1) Take this path to the left and follow the discreet white and red markings, which are more visible in yellow.
All you have to do is follow theGR® to the Mont Rachais sign.

(2) Take the indicated path, which climbs steeply to the ridge.

(3) Take the path opposite and you will easily reach the summit of Mont Rachais.

(4) Return via the same route, but in reverse, to reach the Lachal car park (S/E).

An interesting route without much difficulty. A bit busy when you reach the ridge. We completed the circular route without difficulty in finding the route.

A lovely hike that makes a change from the traditional starting points of Jardin des Dauphins or Col de Vence. We were able to do a circular walk. Steep descent through the woods carpeted with pretty dead leaves. A seasonal walk in the sunshine with beautiful views of Grenoble.

It makes a nice change from the traditional start at the Jardin des Dauphins or Col de Vence! However, we did a circular route and it was great (thanks GPS!). Nice (steep!) descent through the woods. I have the route but I couldn't include it here. In any case, it was a lovely seasonal walk, in the sunshine and completely safe. There was a clearly visible sign indicating the route not to take.::

Beautiful hike. Very beautiful view of the Grenoble valley. The unmarked section is a bit overgrown, but that means you can eat blackberries!
Thank you.
