Description of the walk

Starting point: Corenc Town Hall, Rue de la Condamine. There are parking spaces near the roundabout, but public transport can also be used.

(S) From the roundabout, take Allée de la Piscine (near the Technical Services building). An alternative route is possible (see ‘Practical information’ section); at the end of the street, continue through the park, go round the library, join Chemin de la Croix de Montfleury and follow it for a few metres to your right. Carry on until you reach Chemin du Petit Violet and its bridge.

(1) The two routes meet at Chemin du Petit Violet. Cross the stream via the small bridge, then take the first road on the right which climbs alongside the streams. From this bend, continue steadily uphill. Cross the main road, then proceed to the end of the road. The climb is steep and can take around fifteen minutes.

(2) Take the steps on the left and you’ll find yourself at the junction of Chemin de la Vierge Noire and Chemin du Pinotte.

(3) Head straight on along Chemin du Pinotte for five minutes until you reach the last house. The chapel is signposted and is on your left. It is open to the public, but is situated on private property. Please respect the site.
Return via the same route you took on the way there (S/E).

I often go up Mount Rachais when I don’t have much time; it’s allowed me to discover a new path – thank you.
