From Val d'Allos Village, you will need to go to the Laus car park, which is accessed via a small mountain road that is open to traffic from mid-June to mid-October (weather permitting).
During the high summer season, this car park is regulated, limited and subject to a charge when going uphill. Please do not hesitate to contact the Tourist Office.
(S/E) The trailhead is simply at the end of the car park. Climb a few stone steps and you will arrive at a path.
(1) You will find the Maison Forestière du Laus on your left. Cross a small wooden bridge to continue your hike and you will arrive at a crossroads.
(2) Turn left at the fork towards Mont Pelat. Keep left until you reach a small wooden bridge.
(3) Cross the bridge and continue a little way into the forest on a path that will lead you to the Méouilles plateau (a paradise for bivouacs) and its fork.
(4) Once you have crossed this second plateau, turn left again towards Mont Pelat. You are now embarking on a challenging, rocky climb until you reach the viewpoint.
(5) As you begin to climb, keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the scenery. This is a special place where wildlife, particularly ibex and chamois, reign supreme. You will see a path on your right leading to Lac du Trou de l'Aigle, which you can reach by taking a detour. Otherwise, turn left to reach Combe du Pelat.
(6) Looking down, you will see Lac d'Allos. Continue along the path. The last few metres before the summit are over rock (caution for those prone to vertigo). Reach the summit.
(7) From here, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the Haut Verdon valley and the magnificent Lac d'Allos. This is the highest peak in the upper Verdon valley. Return to the starting point by following the route in reverse. (S/E)
