(S/E) Car park at the end of a cul-de-sac in Marsal.
With your back to the car park, head back towards the centre of the village of Marsal. Walk around the village and take the yellow marked trail towards the hamlet of Le Barry.
(1) Pass under the cemetery and continue on the small road that follows theGR®36, leaving two roads on your right.
(2) At the fork (cross), turn left, leaving theGR® to continue towards Maurinié Haute.
(3) Pass in front of a house on the banks of the Tarn, then follow the gravel path that continues along the Tarn.
There are beautiful places to see along the river, including small beaches, coves, lush vegetation in spring and birdsong.
Continue following the circular bend in the Tarn.
(4) At the junction with the D172 and the tunnel, retrace your steps while enjoying the nature and water, and head towards Marsal. At the entrance to the village, turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
Improved route to avoid returning via Gougeac. This route is clearly marked in yellow. At junction 4 with the road, turn left and follow the path carefully for 750 metres, then turn right onto the GR 36, which climbs through the woods to the hamlet of Gougeac.Leave the GR on your right and take the path opposite, which descends past a pond and then the water tower before arriving at the house "Le Fournials". Pass under the bridge of the D172 road and you will find yourself back on the road you started on. Turn left and you will find the car park.
