Start from the car park below Bois Borgne, near the Paillote de l’Île-aux-Pies.
This walk follows a large part of theGR®®347, marked in red and white.
(S/E) From the car park, head towards the Paillote and walk past it. Follow theGR®® to the cliff edge to enjoy the view of Île-aux-Pies.
(1) Follow theGR®® southwards, walking alongside the River Oust on your right, with the river below you. The track enters woodland and crosses a side track at its end.
(2) Turn onto the side track and follow it round a bend. Turn right. TheGR®® winds its way to a Y-junction.
(3) Turn left, then emerge onto a wide track forming a T-junction. Take the first turn right then left. Follow theGR®® to the second bend.
(4) Leave theGR®® briefly by turning left. Cross the Route Val du Port and follow it to the right.
(5) Return to the red and white markings, ignoring a path veering north (which will be the return route). Reach a junction of paths and follow the path furthest to the right to find the chapel.
(6) Retrace your steps. Return to theGR®® and follow it to the left. Walk along the Oust on your left, keeping above it.
(5) At the fork in the road, turn left and stay as close as possible to the river, following the red and white signpostedGR®®. The river is visible below, appearing as a dotted line between the trees.
(4) At the three-way junction, turn left. Retrace your steps along the same route you took on the way there to return to the car park at La Paillote de l’Île-aux-Pies (S/E).
