Start from the car park in the village square near the town hall. This walk has signposts and will soon feature yellow paint markings.
(S/E) Take Rue des Écoliers, opposite the town hall, to the ‘Le Lavoir’ signpost.
(1) Take Rue des Écoliers on the left, then Chemin du Tilleul on the right towards Le Grand Logis, where the old coaching inn has been converted into a guesthouse. Continue to the T-junction.
(2) Turn right towards the Étang du Grand Moulin and head for a three-way junction.
(3) Take the right-hand fork and continue straight on until you reach a four-way crossroads (near the Étang du Grand Moulin on your left).
(4) At the pond, turn right towards Mionnay. The path then first turns right then left and joins the Route de Bourg-en-Bresse (D43).
(5) Cross the road carefully and continue straight ahead towards the edge of the Bois des Alagniers.
(6) Keep right, pass under a high-voltage power line and ignore the entrance to the Ferme de Meaux. Continue along the path that goes round it and you’ll reach a four-way crossroads.
(7) At the La Durande - ULM crossroads, turn right to reach the village of Civrieux. You will rejoin the D43.
(8) Cross with care and continue straight on until you reach the sharp left-hand bend with a view of the water tower.
(9) Continue along the Chemin de l’Étang Dent and take the grassy dirt track on the right, just after you’ve gone over the hill, heading towards the stadium, and walk across the fields to the stadium.
(10) Walk alongside them, continue behind the houses and note the wash house as you pass. Take the street of the same name opposite to reach the crossroads from the outward journey.
(1) Turn left to reach the village square (S/E).
