The walk starts at the car park at Mionnay station.
(S/E) When leaving the car park, turn left, cross the railway line and follow the road.
(1) At the "Polletins" signpost, turn right towards Bois Roux and follow the avenue of plane trees to the crossroads. Turn right and follow the road for about 700 metres.
(2) Enter Bois Calane and follow the dirt track on the left. Please note that the path can be muddy when it rains. Continue along this path until you reach the edge of the woods. On the right, you can see Étang Prarieux, and on the left, a horse riding centre typical of the Dombes region.
(3) At the "Étang Calane" signpost, continue straight ahead towards Étang de Meaux, then a few metres further on, continue straight ahead. The path crosses Bois Roux (be careful here too in wet weather). At the edge of the woods, continue straight ahead.
(4) At the signpost, continue towards Étang de Meaux, then at the Ferme de Meaux crossroads, turn left and continue for about 200 metres.
(5) At the "Étang de Meaux" signpost, turn left onto the dirt track towards Les Cabanes. Follow this path, which first runs alongside fields, then crosses the Bois Roux. Continue straight ahead until you reach the edge of the woods and turn right onto the tarmac road. Follow this road for about 400 metres, which then turns into a dirt track. Continue to the crossroads.
(6) At the "La Guicharde" signpost, continue straight ahead towards Étang Dimanche, then turn left. Étang Dimanche is about a hundred metres further on. There is a bench where you can rest and watch the birds.
