At the bottom of Place d'Ohain (S/E), take the Ruelle Quimbin towards the École Saint-Joseph, which then becomes the Chemins des Morts.
(1) At the crossroads, take the turnstile on the right, cross the meadow occupied by cows or horses depending on the season, and then take the path that runs alongside it, which you will later learn is the Sentier du Mayeur. When it comes out onto the road, take La Grande Buissière on the left, which crosses the Le Boricar neighbourhood.
(2) At the Ohain water tower, follow Chemin du Pêque on the right.
(3) At the Notre-Dame de Bon Secours chapel (1673, rebuilt in 1859), cross the old Chemin de Wavre and continue straight ahead along Chemin des Messes.
(4) When you reach the hamlet of Ransbeck, look for a second chapel on a discreet path on the right. At the end of the street, at the Saint-Roch Chapel, turn right onto Rue du Mont Lassy and then left, before the stream, onto Chemin du Bosquet. Look out for the typical local building on the corner of the street. At the top of the road, admire the beautiful view on the left of the end of the golf course and the beautiful properties of Ransbeck.
(5) At the crossroads, follow the Sentier de l'Abbaye on the left, which runs alongside and then crosses the Waterloo Golf Course. At the end, turn left onto the Vieux chemin de Wavre, then immediately right. You are now on Rue Bois-Héros, which you follow to the end.
(6) You will then arrive at Route de la Marache, which you take on the left, and the Smohain river, which you follow downstream until it joins the Lasne. The Smohain has its source 1 km upstream, at a place called La Marache. Before climbing back up towards the Ferme du Golf, turn right onto the Sentier de la Marmite, which crosses the Smohain once and temporarily joins Rue Beau-Chêne, but quickly turns left again to wind its way along the meandering river before climbing steeply up to Rue Pechère, which you take on the left.
(7) At the end of this road, continue straight ahead along the Sentier du Pré des Ornois, which passes between two superb properties before joining Rue d'Aquinot. Continue straight ahead, cross the Smohain again and join the Route de la Marache, which you take on the right at the riding school to follow the ponds.
(8) At the restaurant, turn right onto Sentier du Champ d'Ohain. At the end, turn left onto Chemin du Bois des Pauvres until you reach Route d'Ohain.
(9) Cross this main road and take the Sentier de la Chapelle, which is slightly to the left. Follow the course of the Smohain again. At the end of the path, turn right and follow the Chemin du Moulin, which now overlooks the Smohain and its few ponds.
(10) Among the first houses on the right of the road, you will recognise the Moulin d'Ohain, whose origins date back to the 13th century but which has now been converted into a private residence. Almost at the end of Chemin du Moulin, after No. 33, turn right onto Sentier de la Closière Madame to reach the Smohain one last time before it flows into the Lasne a little further on.
(11) Take the path that climbs up to the left towards Avenue de l'Horizon, in the middle of which you turn right onto Avenue de la Chenaie. Continue along the first road on the left, Avenue de la Pinède, and continue straight ahead along Chemin de la Brire. In the middle of this road, turn left onto Clos de la Brire, then right onto Sentier de Haut Brire, which leads straight to Rue du Smohain.
(12) At the end of this street, turn right and then immediately left onto Chemin des Vieux Amis.
(13) At the end, turn left, then immediately right onto Ruelle Maho, which climbs up to the right. At the end of this street, cross Rue du Batty (main road) and take Ruelle des Trépassés, then turn right onto Sentier de la Chapelle, which will take you back to Place d'Ohain (S/E) via Rue de l'Eglise Saint Etienne, which you take on the right.
