Parking is available at the Saegmatt car park 200 metres away, above the former "Restaurant des Cascades" in Stosswihr/Ampfersbach (at the end of the Ampfersbach valley)
(S/E) From the car park, head west on the forest path marked with a yellow sign, towards Stolz Ablass, until you reach a fork.
(1) Turn left and you will arrive at the Ruisseau de la Schlucht.
(2) At a place called Sofflat, follow the path to the right. At the fork, turn left until you reach the shelter by the waterfalls. Next to the shelter, take the stony path that winds its way up alongside the Torrent de la Petite Fecht. There are numerous waterfalls until you reach Stolz Ablass. The path ends at a forest track, which you follow to the left. Cross the two stone bridges.
(3) Take the path on the right which crosses two beautiful waterfalls via footbridges. Continue to the junction with the Chevalet Bleu/Disque Jaune.
(4) Turn left towards Stolz Ablkass and Frankenthal (yellow disc). The trail leads to a forest path that passes by the Stolz Ablass car park. Take the forest path marked with a yellow disc and continue tothe first intersection.
(5) Leave the return path on your right and continue straight ahead to Rothried. Turn right, following the blue triangle signs, and after about 200 m, you will reach a cross forest path.
(6) Take it on the left (blue triangle and yellow disc). In the bend that follows, continue straight ahead along a pretty path in the middle of the moraines (yellow disc) which crosses the Petite Fecht stream further on. This path, which is sometimes very steep, leads to the magnificent glacial cirque of Frankenthal, at the intersection with theGR®531(Blue Rectangle).
(7) Turn right onto the GR®. A little further on, turn left and walk a few hundred metres to discover the Frankenthal peat bog, then retrace your steps back to the GR®.
(7) Turn left onto theGR®531(Blue Rectangle) and continue downhill. After a left turn, you will reach a Y-junction.
(8) Leave the blue rectangleGR® markings and stay opposite, on the forest path, following the yellow disc markings. Go through the hairpin bend to the right and continue to the crossroads near Rothried, which you passed on the way there. Turn completely left and return to the crossroads you came to on the way there.
(6) Leave the blue triangle markings and continue straight ahead for a few hundred metres until you reach a junction where the yellow disc path splits into two perpendicular branches.
(9) Leave the forest path and take the narrow trail on the right (yellow disc) to reach the crossroads at the end of the loop.
(5) Turn left, pass the Stolz Ablass car park, which you have already passed, stay on the path, then on the path marked with a yellow disc.
(4) At the junction with the Sentier des Mulets, marked with blue signs, turn left onto this very wild path, which descends slightly, until you reach the intersection with a forest path.
(10) Turn right downhill onto the forest road marked "Vers le parking Saegmatt". At the next fork, take the hairpin bend to the right and then, a little further on, another hairpin bend to the left. The path through the less dense forest offers beautiful views of the cliffs overlooking the Sentier des Mulets.
The path leads to the route marked with a yellow disc, which you took on the way there.
(1) Continue straight ahead, following the same route as on the way there, until you reach the Saegmatt car park (S/E).
