Description of the walk

Park in the car park at the Lancy Forest.

(S/E) Take the wide, straight path heading north-west.

(1) Between clearings 35 and 36, take the path on the right for a few metres, then turn left to reach the Lancy Dolmen.

(2) Follow the path to the village track.

(3) Turn right and continue along the edge of the woodland.

(4) Turn right to enter the forest. You may spot roe deer, wild boar, foxes, birds of prey and other wildlife.

(5) At the road, turn left towards the Pierre Couverte (private property) and continue past the access road for about a hundred metres.

(6) Take the path on your right. Just before entering the forest, on your right, is an archaeological site: the Lancy polishing stone. Take a detour to see it, then turn back to continue the route.

The Vauluisant Forest covers 2,400 hectares. It is situated mainly within the municipality of Saint-Maurice-aux-Riches-Hommes, but its southern part also extends into La Postolle, Lailly and Courgenay.
