The Bezeaux Spring and Les Hauts de Flacy

(S/E) With your back to the church, take Rue de la Planchette.

(1) At the T-junction, turn right onto Rue d’En-Haut, which continues along the^GR®2, also known as the Chemin des Pâtures.

(2) Continue along the^GR®2, running parallel to the Vanne aqueduct for 2 km.

(3) Turn left at the four-way crossroads and continue to the D141.

(4) Follow it for 120m to the left, then take the first path on the right. Continue straight on through the Bois de Chevry, then follow a field for 230m.

(5) Take the first path on the left. At Les Grands Hauts de Flacy, turn right, then 190m further on, turn left to join Rue de Maison Rouge.

(6) Follow this street to the left through Les Grands Hauts de Flacy. Walk alongside a pond on the right and, immediately afterwards, take the first path on the right. Enter the Bois communaux. Take the first path on the left after 50m until you reach the D141 road (Rue de la Forêt).

(7) Turn left onto this road, walk for 140m and take the first clear path on the right into the forest.

(8) Take the second path on the left after 550m and continue straight on. At the fork, turn right, go straight on, cross the speed bump, and at the end of the path turn right to leave the woods.

(9) On the right, take the Chemin du Buisson Frémy which runs alongside the fields

(10) Continue left onto the small Route des Châteliers. Go straight on along Rue du Bel Air then Grande Rue to Flacy town hall and the car park (S/E).

(S/E) Flacy Church. This church is dedicated to Saint Loup, whose feast day is 1 September. Nearby gushed the Saint-Loup spring, whose ‘miraculous’ waters were said to have the power to heal sick children.

(1) Rue de la Planchette
On the left, admire the wash house: it dates from 1877 and was in use until the 1960s. It was nicknamed the ‘gossips’ café’.
On the right, the Gaudin spring, which helps supply the capital with water, since it was tapped by the Paris Waterworks.

(2) On the^GR®2, the Bezeaux Spring (etymology: ‘les Boeufs Eaux’)

(5) After crossing the Bois de Chevry, a beautiful view of the Grands Hauts de Flacy and the Molinons wind farm.

(10) On the little road to Les Châtelliers, views of Bagneaux, Flacy and Vulaines. On the right, the Châtelliers farm, then the Rigny-le-Ferron sawmill.
