The town hall of this commune is completely off the beaten track and is situated outside the residential area in a16th-century manor house at Porte Pilet.
When arriving in Chasné-sur-Illet via the D106, turn right after the cemetery if coming from Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné, or left before the cemetery if coming from Liffré.
The former town hall buildings, just past the cemetery, have become the village school, on the right on Rue de l’École.
Continue along Rue de l'École to the crossroads. Turn left into Rue du Clos Lorin. Then, turn left again after the central reservation and immediately right into the Town Hall residential complex.
The car park is on the right.
(S/E) Leave the car park, keeping the town hall on your right, and walk up Rue Résidence de la Mairie. Take the grassy path on the right at the central reservation. This path is lined along its entire length by two rows of majestic oak trees.
Follow Rue du Gué to the left, then turn right onto Chemin de la Justais.
(1) Turn right onto Rue du Grand Clos. Follow the road and pass through La Cormerais and Les Pouteaux.
(2) At a 90° bend in the road to the right, turn left and then immediately right onto the path. Ignore a road on the left. At the fork, turn left and join a gravel road. At the bend, continue along the path that runs straight on.
(3) After 50m, turn right onto a forest track (marked for mountain bike routes). Follow the edge of the forest, cross the Choinette stream and continue right at the crossroads.
(4) Follow the road to the right and after 100m turn left heading north-west.
Cross the D97 road and continue straight ahead. Pass Les Champs Blancs on your left and head towards Les Marettes.
(5) At the T-junction, turn left then turn right after 100m. Cross Chêne Chaugon then Placis Moulin. Cross the D25 road and continue straight ahead.
(6) At the Y-junction, head right towards the north-east. Turn right onto the road and, after the last houses, take the path on the left. This joins the road from La Chesnaie to Les Butteaux. Follow it for about a hundred metres on the left.
(7) After the water tower, turn right. Follow the road as it bends to the left. At the crossroads, turn left and head towards Les Épinettes.
(8) Cross the road (D25) and immediately turn left. Continue to Haut Montmeyer.
(9) Just before the first house, take the path on the right. Continue to the right. Follow the road to the right, leaving Haut Janson on your left.
After the right-hand bend, continue along the path as it extends southwards. It joins the D25 road, which you must cross to continue straight ahead.
(10) At the end of the path, turn left. You will reach Rue du Clos Lorin. After a right/left turn, you will arrive at the rear of the town hall. The car park is on the left (S/E).
