The Théoulet path

The path starts at the chapel of Taillefer, winding its way through plains, hills and valleys, through woods, fields and pastures. It runs alongside part of the Lézert, which is very pleasant in spring, where the paths are truly beautiful.

Description of the walk

Park in front of Taillefer cemetery.

Yellow markings

(S/E) In front of the Taillefer chapel in Teulet, take the grassy path next to the cemetery and head down into the woods until you reach the Bellegarde road.

(1) Follow this road to the right until you reach a fork.

(2) Turn left onto the path that climbs up to La Piquounié, then continue straight on along this ridge path to Puech del Cau.

(3) Turn left, pass by the farm and head down the path to La Négrarié.

(4) Continue left, downhill, to the Ruisseau de Lézert.

(5) Cross the small bridge and continue left along the path which leads to the Route de Teulet. Follow it to the left for a few metres and cross the Pont de Cantarane.

(6) After the bridge, turn right onto a lovely path that runs alongside meadows, and join another path.

(7) Turn left and continue uphill until you reach a road.

(8) Follow the road to the right, then left, and return to the starting point (S/E).

An easy walk offering beautiful views of the Tarn countryside and a glimpse of Albi Cathedral.
The walk can be completed in around 2 hours without stopping, which is less time than indicated by Visiorando (2 hours 35 minutes).
In short, this walk is lovely and suitable for everyone.

The first rays of sunshine on this February day, and I fancied making the most of them with a walk.
A lovely little walk. No problems, no particular difficulties. Varied scenery: meadows, woodland... Took less time than stated (15 minutes) without walking quickly. With time to take photos. We came across ducks and horses in their field...
We’ll do this walk again in the spring.

A great route, though the only downside is coming across farm dogs running loose, which isn’t always reassuring

A very pleasant walk with very little tarmac and plenty of shaded sections.
No aggressive dogs at the farms we passed through.
Nice views, even if the view of Albi Cathedral is a bit of a let-down 😉.
Thank you

A lovely route through the countryside. Not much road and good paths, except at the start where, this spring, the trail gets lost in the tall grass, but this doesn’t last long. There’s a large field of alfalfa after La Négrarié: a tip for those interested, it’s about to flower and the path between points 6 and 7 is really lovely at the moment. Don’t hesitate to choose this route over the nearby Bellegarde one (Les trois ruisseaux no. 237374); it’s much more interesting.
