(S/E) Departure from the church in Berchères la Maingot.
When facing the church, turn right and then left onto Rue Fernand Hereau (towards Bouglainval).
After 150 metres, turn right onto a path. Continue until you reach Rue du Couvent, then turn left onto the D327.4 and leave the village.
(1) After 100 metres, take the path on the right (Sente du Chapitre) for about 2 kilometres, crossing two small roads on the left of the village of Théléville.
(2) At the entrance to the woods, take the path on the right at the fork.
(3) Pass in front of the cave (remains of an aqueduct gallery). At the next fork, continue right for about 2.2 km, crossing the D136.
(4) Turn left onto the third path after crossing the road. Continue straight ahead until you reach the entrance to Bouglainval on the D106.4 and turn left.
In Bouglainval, turn right onto the D26.1, then left onto the road that runs alongside the castle grounds.
When you reach the road, turn left and follow the castle walls.
(5) At the water tower, turn right. After 100 metres, turn left then right to reach the church.
(6) Turn right onto the road and turn left after the cemetery, cross the bridge, turn right and take the uphill path. Continue along the path to the left after the pylon and continue for 1.7 km.
(7) Cross the Vallée des Larris stream and continue straight ahead at the fork in the road.
At the edge of the woods, turn right onto the path. The first sign provides some information about the history of this part of the canal. Continue along the path until you reach the second sign.
(8). A wooden platform allows you to admire the masonry structure known as "la Grande Arche" (the Great Arch).
Turn around. Back at the first sign, take the small path on the left that goes up into the woods.
(9) When you reach the cave, turn left and then shortly afterwards turn right. Continue along the path that runs alongside the earth embankment and then passes between the two ponds.
(10) At the edge of the woods, turn right, then left when you reach the small tarmac road.
After 400 metres, take the path on the left which will take you back to the rear of Berchères church. Turn right onto the road to return to your starting point (S/E).
