Access: From Le Tignet, take the D13 towards Saint-Cézaire. On the outskirts of the village, turn right towards the Festre business park, then turn right into Allée des Senteurs. Stop at the foot of the Défens track towards the educational farm.
(S/E) Take the track towards the farm (east-northeast).
(1) At marker 30, continue right towards the Col de Cabris. Cross an area that burned during the summer of 2017.
(2) At marker 19, continue on the Défens trail towards the Col de Cabris. Along the way, walk past a small ranch in the undergrowth on the left, then houses on the right.
(3) At Col de Cabris (marker 52), take the first left towards Saint-Vallier-de-Thiez. Walk above the Belletrud underground canal. Follow the yellow markings.
(4) At marker 34, leave the track and turn right towards Saint-Vallier. Continue straight ahead on a pretty little path lined with tall pine trees and then paved with large stones reminiscent of an old Roman road. When you reach an open space, continue straight ahead until you reach marker 33, located after passing under a power line.
(5) Then turn left towards Bois d'Amon and Saint-Cézaire. You will see a high-voltage power line pole in front of you. Follow the yellow markings. The landscape remains open at first, then becomes wooded again. You will arrive at marker 32 (broken). Leave the track on your left towards the Belletrud canal and the Col de Cabris and take the Festre track opposite.
(6) At the next crossroads, leave the straight track and turn left onto a small winding path. Be careful, there is no specific sign indicating that you should turn. Marker 28 shown on the map no longer exists! This path is marked in yellow shortly after you turn. Near the high-voltage power line, marker 29 is broken. Turn left at the "Bois d'Amon" sign. Pass under the high-voltage power line. Then keep to the right. The path becomes stony. When you reach a plateau, admire the pretty little drystone shelter (drystone shelter) on your left and the ruins of a village on your right above the esplanade. Follow the stony track for a few metres.
(7) Before the barrier that closes the track, turn left onto a small path that leads to the megalithic ruins (Colbas dolmen, the largest in the Alpes Maritimes). The ruins are located high up on the right of the path. The forest has also burned in this area. Admire the ruins and the magnificent surrounding landscape. Return to the track via the same path.
(7) Continue along this track until you reach the educational farm. The descent is rocky and very steep. After the farm, rejoin the track you started on at marker 30.
(1) Continue straight ahead to return to the starting point (S/E).
. A lovely route for families. Apart from the residents in the area, there were no other visitors when we did it
