Lac du Ternay from Saint-Julien-Molin-Molette

Park in the car park opposite the church in the village of Saint-Julien-Molin-Molette (Place Louis Bancel).

(S/E) Exit the car park and head towards the church entrance, then take the street on the right (Avenue des Ateliers). At Avenue de Colombier, cross at the pedestrian crossing and continue left on the pavement. After about 40 metres, take a slightly uphill street on the right. Then, about ten metres further on, continue left uphill (Montée des Anges).

(1) Continue uphill after the last houses in the village, leaving the paved road for a dirt track and continuing straight ahead. Continue uphill across the fields, ignoring the paths on the right.

(2) Near an isolated house, just before crossing the fenced property of this house, leave the straight path and turn left. The path seems to disappear through the fields, but continue downhill until you reach a road. Carefully follow this busy road to the right, then leave it after about 50 metres, going down a dirt track on the left.

(3) When you reach the bottom of the valley, wade across a small stream, then climb up the other side, taking the path on the right that runs alongside a field fence. When you reach a road, follow it for about ten metres towards the road sign indicating the Col du Banchet.

(4) At the intersection after the road sign, turn left, then immediately left again onto a dirt track that goes uphill. Continue uphill, keep right at the forks and you will come to a crossroads.

(5) Continue straight ahead and follow this path downhill. After the descent, you will come to a road. Turn left and continue for about 50 metres.

(6) At the crossroads in the hamlet of La Pouretière, cross over and continue straight ahead between the houses in the hamlet, then continue straight ahead on a dirt track leading downhill. At the bottom of the valley, cross the stream and climb up the other side. Join another track.

(7) Follow this path to the right, continuing straight ahead. Pass a crossroads and arrive at a place called Les Chaillots. Cross the village, staying on the main path and ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left. You will arrive at a hiking signpost (Les Chaillots).

(8) Turn left here, ignoring the path branching off to the right. Continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left. You will reach the hamlet of Le Blanchard.

(9) Cross the hamlet on the tarmac road and continue straight ahead on the tarmac section to reach the hamlet of Écuville. At the first crossroads, turn right and then immediately left onto a dirt track (Chemin du Barrage). Continue downhill on this track to reach the road along the edge of Lac du Ternay.

(10) Continue left along the road that runs alongside the lake and continue straight ahead. Pass the restaurant and continue along the lake.

(11) Before reaching the end of the lake, about 150 m after passing the restaurant, turn left onto a path that leads into the woods. Follow this path uphill until you reach a tarmac road, then turn right.

(12) Leave the tarmac road and take a dirt track that heads almost in the opposite direction, uphill to the left. Follow this track until you reach a crossroads.

(13) Take the path furthest to the right, continuing uphill. Continue through the undergrowth, ignoring a path branching off to the right, until you reach a crossroads.

(14) Turn onto the first path on the right and continue downhill through the woods. Join another path and continue to the right, still downhill. During the descent, ignore a path on the right (which is a property entrance) and then turn left. Continue until you reach a tarmac road.

(15) Follow it to the left, keeping straight ahead until you reach the entrance to Saint-Julien-Molin-Mollette. Pass by the fire and rescue centre, then continue until you reach a crossroads. Continue straight ahead, then keep to the right to follow the primary school building as closely as possible.

(16) Turn right onto a dirt track, crossing a small public park. Cross the small bridge over the River Ternay. On the other side, continue left along the river. Follow the river and the old factory buildings until you reach the main road through the village. Cross and continue straight ahead, taking Rue du Faubourg. Ignore a street on the right and continue straight ahead. At the next intersection, turn left onto Rue des Ateliers, crossing over the river and reaching the car park (S/E).
