Access: On the D629 road, if you are coming from the south-east, take the road on the right signposted "Barrage des Cammazes". If you are coming from the north-west, take the same road but a little after the village of Les Cammazes. Follow this road down to the dam. Just before the dam, there is a car park along the road.
(DA) As the dam is not accessible to vehicles, start by crossing it and enjoy the view of the lake.
(1) At the end of the dam, immediately take the left-hand road that goes uphill. You are now on a very wide, well-maintained road with good shoulders. This road runs alongside the Rabasset stream. Continue along it until you reach the crossroads where the streams meet.
(2) Turn right onto a narrower path that climbs quite steeply at first. The map is inaccurate because the path starts a few dozen metres before the one indicated. Continue along this path, which widens and climbs to the ridge line in the middle of the forest. You will come to a large crossroads after passing a barrier.
(3) Turn completely to the right. Continue along this very wide, easily passable track, which leads to two more gates.
(4) Turn right at a right angle. The road opposite, which is shown on the map, is now fenced off. Continue along this wide, undulating road until you reach the dam.
(1) Cross over in the other direction to reach the car park (S/E).
