From Bagnères-de-Bigorre, head to the Col du Tourmalet (2115m). From there, descend the pass on the Barèges side and park at the second hairpin bend (1944m) where there is a large car park.
(S/E) The path heads north and quickly turns west. Cross the Ruisseau d'Oncet, another stream, and the Ruisseau de Coueyla. Continue along this well-marked path, signposted in yellow. It climbs slightly. At the fork, leave theGR®10C, which branches off to the right (2000 m).
(1) The path heads northwest without climbing. After crossing two streams that are often dry, the path begins to climb. There are a few sections where you will need to pay attention. As you approach a right-hand bend, the path climbs rapidly and heads northeast (2050 m). The path continues to climb and zigzags left, heading due north.
(2) As you approach the fork, Lake Aouda comes into view. Be careful, there may still be snow on the ground. Go around the lake on the right.
(3) Head towards the bottom of the valley. The path turns left, heading northwest, and climbs up the scree slope. There is a well-marked path. Follow it uphill without trying to cut across. After a few switchbacks, you will reach Col d'Aoube (2369 m).
(4). Be careful, there may still be snow. Take extra care and, if there is snow, use a walking stick for support. From this pass, there is a view of Lac Bleu and Lac Vert. High mountain area.
Remember to descend via the same route to Lac d'Aouda.
(2) After this lake, turn left onto a path that heads south-east, staying on the hillside for 500 m. It curves to the right and heads due south. A series of hairpin bends at the foot of the rocky outcrop will take you quickly uphill, still heading due south. The path then turns left and curves to the right without changing altitude. You will arrive at Col de La Bonida (2,302 m).
(5) Continue south to reach the highest point, 150 m further on (2,315 m).
(6) There is a beautiful panoramic view, particularly of the Pic de Midi de Bigorre and the Néouvielle.
Now turn back and head for the pass.
(5) Turn right, heading due east, onto a well-marked path. Do not cut the bends (erosion and, above all, very slippery grass). The path then heads north-east, descends and leads you to a fork.
(7) Continue straight ahead north-east towards Lac d'Oncet, which is easily accessible. At the 2254 m point, head towards the Pic de Midi road overlooking the lake. Follow the yellow markings (track) orGR®10C. When you reach the road, continue north to Col de Sencours (2378 m).
(8) View of the valley leading from Vallon d'Arizes. Remember to head back down.
Turn around on the road and descend towards the lake until you reach the fork.
(7) Continue along the path that branches off to the left, heading due south and descending. The path now winds down rapidly.
(9) 300 metres before thefirst fork you passed on the way up, a path heading due east to the left takes you back to the path you used in the morning. Turn left and join the (S/E).
