The car park is located on the road leading up to Chamrousse from Saint-Martin-d'Uriage, just over a kilometre after the hamlet of Les Seiglières before a hairpin bend. The entrance is fairly easy to find.
(S/E) The hike begins on a fairly wide forest path, which you follow for a while.
(1) A few hundred metres after leaving the car park, you will come to a crossroads. Continue on the main road (bottom left).
(2) When you reach a fairly open space, a road branches off to the bottom left. Continue along the main path, which climbs up to the right.
Continue along this path until you reach the Cascade l'Oursière waterfall.
(3) After about 3km and a 400m climb (be warned, it's quite steep!), you will arrive at the famous Cascade de l'Oursière. This magnificent and imposing waterfall is about 80m high. It's a great place to cool off during the climb when the weather is hot.
Then continue along the path that climbs to the Plateau de l'Oursière, which is about 100 metres higher.
(4) When you reach a crossroads, continue straight ahead towards the bottom of the plateau (the climb on the right leads to the Lacs Robert).
(5) After reaching the very hilly plateau of the Lacs de la Pra, climb to the right towards Lac Bernard and then Lac Longet.
(6) At Lac Longet, head left towards Lac Claret, which is only a 5-10 minute walk away.
(7) Arrive at Lac Claret, overlooked by La Grande Lauzière at an altitude of 1,741 metres.
After resting and enjoying the view, descend via the path that leads down to the left into the valley below Lac Claret.
Rejoin the path you took on the way up after crossing the Doménon torrent.
(5) From here, simply follow the path you took on the way up, but in the opposite direction this time, to return to the car park (S/E).
