Description of the walk

Head to the Chalet-Hôtel du Gioberney at the end of the Valgaudemar Valley.
Park in the upper car park.

There are no markings, just a few signposts and cairns.
(S/E) With your back to the chalet, take the path heading north towards Lac Lauzon. 50 metres further on, at the fork, take the left-hand path, continuing to follow the signs for Lac Lauzon.

(1) 200m further on, leave the path on the left that indicates Lac Lauzon (this will be the way back).
Continue straight ahead, following the sign for Refuge du Pigeonnier. The trail continues gently, then climbs in switchbacks to bypass the Torrent de Muande Bellone. Follow the torrent above for a while and then set off again on a series of hairpin bends that lead to a less steep section. Leave two paths on your left (10 metres apart), which also lead to the lake, and continue for another ten metres or so until you reach the fork just before a left-hand bend.

(2) Take the path on the left towards Lac Lauzon. After about 50 metres, before the path crosses a stream near some bushes, leave a path on the left. Find a grassy track that climbs up to the right north-west (be careful, there are no cairns or signs at this junction and the track is not very visible at first).
The trail climbs straight west along a stream, then turns left to the south to cross a small rocky step and arrive at a flat section.
The trail continues for about 50 metres westward, climbing slightly to reach the tiny Lac Bleu.

(3) Walk along the left side of the lake, following the trail that heads south, down a gentle slope.
Pass a small lake, then another small lake overgrown with vegetation.
The slope becomes a little steeper as you approach a stream, then you will be able to see Lac Lauzon below by taking a few steps to the left of the trail.
Further down, a waterfall on your right indicates where the trail turns left to pass under the rocks and reach Lac Lauzon.

(4) Go around the lake on the left and when the trail climbs a little, find another trail coming from the left (the one you left earlier to climb up to Lac Bleu).
Turn right and head towards the lake to follow the other shore.
400 metres after the lake, admire the beautiful waterfall on your right. The trail continues on flat ground, crosses the Torrent du Lauzon via a small footbridge, then climbs a few metres before beginning the descent.
A series of switchbacks take you above the Chalet and the famous Voile de la Mariée.

(5) Continue the descent heading north, then the trail veers east to rejoin the trail taken on the way up.

(1) Turn right to reach the car park (S/E).

This route is not very busy because few people pass by Lac Bleu. It is well preserved and retains all its beauty. There are more people at Lac du Lauzon.

A very pleasant walk despite mixed weather. One comment, however: the turn-off for the blue lake is "after" and not "before" the stream. It is clearly visible in a copse in the middle of the bend.

July 25: Do this in the morning to avoid clouds and possible rain. The weather changes very quickly. The lake is still as beautiful as ever, but still too crowded

We hiked at the end of August in fine weather and without much heat. We passed the Lac du Lauzon before heading to the Pigeonnier refuge, but we didn't pass the Lac Bleu... we were careless and didn't see any signs, so we headed straight for the refuge.
Otherwise, it was a very nice walk and the Lac du Lauzon site is very beautiful.

Nice loop to do in the direction described on the itinerary. Water has been running since 2020 but the route has been maintained. No problem walking on the paths.

Very nice parish specific to Brittany. The direction of the route from Lac Bleu to Lac Lauzon is perfect (to avoid having a downhill return that breaks the legs). Just a little difficulty finding the junction for the Lac Bleu, as it's not signposted. Otherwise it was perfect!

Very nice hike starting from the Valdegaumar refuge, the climb up to the Lac Bleu is very beautiful with views of the glaciers and less frequented than the part of the Lac de Luzon and its descent...
A word of advice: do it early and have lunch at the refuge!

The start of the hike was not accessible on 8 June due to a landslide on the access road.
We used a "plan B" and did the hike from the cabane le l'Aup to les Oulles du diable....un enchantement !!!!

Very nice hike with magnificent scenery. The finish line at the blue lake is splendid, even if the climb is a little steep.

A walk done with sporty children aged 9, 8 and 4 years1/2. Duration around 6 hours, including breaks and frog and tadpole watching in the lakes. Little or no shade. No tricky sections.

We went up by the Lac Bleu (the path to the Pigeonnier refuge) as described in the description - we thought it would be better to go up this way as it's steep and a bit rocky and it would have been a pain to go down this path with the children. It also provides a bit of shade in the evening when you come back down the path to Lac du Lauzon.

As explained in the description, the path to Lac Bleu is not signposted - it's almost immediately after the intersection (point 2), in a bend. The path between the two lakes is not very well marked (it splits up a lot) but with the description and a map you can find it and you can't really get lost. You pass a large slab, then a pretty waterfall and then you have to go left for Lac du Lauzon.

Not many people until you reach Lac Bleu. The scenery is magnificent.

Hello everyone,
Not much signposting on the route, not a problem there's only one path so it's impossible to get lost, I would have preferred to do the climb towards the blue lake but there's no more signposting at the start of the gioberney, shame.
