Park at the Tufière de Rolampont car park on the D254 between Rolampont and Villiers-sur-Suize.
(S/E) From the car park, walk to the right of the information board, then follow the specific signposting for the Tufière Discovery Route until you reach the eastern end of the route, at the spot marked as the source of the Tufière.

(1) At the spring, instead of retracing your steps (to return to the car park), continue straight ahead along the path that climbs uphill. After 30 metres, turn right, then follow the very clear signposting. You’ll come to a good forest track that descends from the left.
(2) Take this track on the right. When you reach the Ruisseau de Vaubrien, cross via a path made of posts driven into the ford. Head straight up the opposite slope to the crossroads of paths.
Alternative: during wet weather, the crossing near the Fontaine du Saut can be very soggy. If you’re wary of getting your feet wet, at point (2) you can head up the forest track to your left, reach a lovely path on the ridge, and turn right. Continue to the D155, turn right, and rejoin the route at point (4) at the bottom of the valley.

(3) Turn left towards the Route de la Fontaine du Saut. Follow this marked path which runs along the bottom of the valley. It can be very wet (and littered with fallen trees) near the Fontaine du Saut: don’t hesitate to follow in the footsteps of previous walkers who have bypassed the obstacles on the right. You will reach the D155.
(4) Cross with care and take a wide forest track slightly to the right on the other side. Follow this track, ignoring the numerous side paths to the right and left, until you reach a tarmac road.

(5) Turn right and follow the road for 300 m; at the junction, take the D155 on the left.
(6) Almost at the bottom of the descent, before a bend to the right, take a farm track on the right which follows the foot of the Combe Renard. Continue until you come to a path coming down from the right to access a pasture on the left.
(7) Take this track to climb at a right angle to the right. You’ll reach a tarmac road; follow it to the left until you reach the village of Faverolles.

(8) In the village, at the first Fork in the road, turn right, then left. Cross the junction, then head down to the right to reach the bridge at the bottom of the village. Take the path just before the bridge which leads back up to the village. At the corner by the cemetery, turn right, then immediately left, then left again. Walk past the church.
(9) About 100 m past the church, take a small tarmac road branching off to the right. Walk up through the fields, cross the ridge and head back down the other side towards two high-voltage power lines.
(10) At the end of the road, beneath the power lines, turn left onto the stony track. You’ll reach a tarmac road.
(11) Turn right and walk uphill to the car park. Beyond the car park, take the path on the right. You’ll come to a junction with a map of the archaeological site.
(12) Follow the specific signposts to the left to walk the discovery trail.
(13) Walk past the Forest Ranger’s House and continue along the discovery trail.
(12) Back at the starting point of the discovery trail, turn right to reach the Forest Ranger’s House (already seen on the circular section of the trail).
(13) Continue along the path towards the east until you reach a well-maintained forest track, then turn left uphill.
(14) 100 m further on, turn right onto a well-marked path through a forest glade. The path is regularly marked by stone markers of various types.
(15) After about 1 km, the path turns right at a right angle. 700 m further on, you’ll reach a Fork in the road with a large stone marker in the middle of the path.
(16) Take the path on the left. At the T-junction, turn left to reach the D254. Turn right onto it, then, after 50 m, take a path leading down to the right (markings are barely visible). Pass the Sources du Lonceau. Just over 100 m further on, leave the main path and head down to the left (markings are faint) towards the stream. Continue along the path to the car park (S/E).
