Access: From the village of Autrans, take the road towards Gève heading north. Parking is available during the summer season when you arrive on the Gève plateau.
(S) From the car park, head north on the paved forest road. When you reach the Gève refuge, follow the "Stèle de l'avion" sign along the gravel road, leaving the path on your right. This sign will guide you to the stele.
(1) At the crossroads, a signpost indicates "Le Cyclone" and there is a picnic table at the foot of the hill. Continue straight ahead between the limestone rocks and the areas covered with sharp limestone pavement.
(2) At the crossroads called Vira Gros Jean (signpost on the right), turn left and the path climbs gently. At the next fork, turn left. You will reach a crossroads.
(3) Go straight ahead (west). The slope becomes steeper and the path is very stony. It curves sharply to the right and ends at a T-junction. Be careful to take the path that veers slightly to the right. The memorial stone is 200 metres away. A sign recounts the accident.
(4) Turn around and go down the same path to the crossroads.
(3) Opposite you, a signpost indicates the direction "Sous les Quarteaux". Ignore it and turn right (south) onto the grassy path. Leave the paths on your left and the few tracks on your right.
(5) Before reaching the biathlon stadium, turn left, descend into the woods and arrive in front of the meadow. Follow the edge of the woods to return to the starting car park (S/E).
