Circular on the Gève plateau

Park in the large car park at the Gève stadium a few kilometres from Autrans.

(S/E) Once you have passed the barrier, turn right into the field and head for the chalet at the end of it. Continue along the track until you reach the hilltop lake.

(1) Go around it, then take the track on the left and stay on it. After a few easy ascents and descents, you will reach the Grande Brèche forest road.

(2) Cross it and continue straight ahead on a new track. Continue along the track, alternating between ascents and descents, until you reach a T-junction.

(3) Turn 90° to the left, then further on you will find the junction with the Route Forestière du Cyclone.

(4) Cross this road and begin an ascent that ends at the junction with a new track.

(5) Take it on the left and follow the typical Vercors green and yellow markings. Shortly afterwards, you will reach another junction.

(6) Turn sharply left and finish the descent at the Refuge de Gève.

(7) Turn right here onto the road leading to the refuge to return to the barrier and the Gève car park (S/E).

This route follows the cross-country ski trails used in winter. Note that snowshoe trails are also marked, allowing you to enjoy this type of outing on the plateau with a few detours.
