Description of the route

Park in the car park of the ESAT equestrian centre at the Pont de Sains farm, located below the greenhouse along the river.

(S/E)Head towards the equestrian centre (red and yellow building) and enter the courtyard on the left opposite the porch. Walk to the cheese dairy at the back of the courtyard. If it is open, go inside to explore the visitor corridor and see the Maroilles cheese production workshop. If the cheese dairy is closed, view the visitor corridor through the two glass doors on the outside. Retrace your steps. From the car park, take the footbridge and go straight ahead, passing under the apple trees, continue along the gravel path and cross the car park, then take the second tarmac path on the right, which is closed to vehicles, to the end.

(1) Turn right and take the path through the Bois du Grand Fresseau. Continue straight ahead until you reach the D42.

(2) Cross carefully and continue straight ahead on Rue de Sains until you reach Chemin des Bruyères.

(3) Turn left and, at the oratory, follow Chemin des Charmilles to the right. Continue to Rue de Sains.

(4) Turn left, then take the first track on the right and continue to the tarmac road.

(5) Continue right on Route d'Avesnes until you reach Ferme du Piopot, where you can take a break to read the explanations via the Baladavesnois app.

(6) Continue along Chemin La Frasnoye on the left. There are two stopping points here for explanations via the Baladavesnois app.

(7) At the crossroads, turn left onto Route La Frasnoye and you will arrive at Buisson Barbet.

(8) Turn left onto Rue du Buisson Barbet, then continue straight ahead until you reach the calvary near the cemetery.

(9) Turn left onto Rue du Calvaire and continue straight ahead. Pass Place du Violoneux, in front of the town hall, and continue straight ahead onto Rue de Sains. Walk past the fortified church (you canstop there if you wish) and continue straight ahead until you reach Chemin des Charmilles.

(4) Return to the farm access road by following the same route you took on the way there.

(1) Continue straight ahead and, when you reach the end of the road closed to motor vehicles, go to the oratory on Route le Pont de Sains. Stay on the grassy verge and turn left towards the ESAT shop, then return to the starting point (S/E).
