Circular cycling in Forêt l'Abbé - Val Joly

Departure from Place du Général de Gaulle.

(S/E) With the church on your left, turn left onto Rue Édmond Wiart, then immediately left.

(1) At the end of the street, turn right onto Rue Léo Lagrange, then at the four-way intersection, continue straight ahead onto Rue Jules Hiroux.

(2) At the corner of No. 43, turn left onto Rue Roland Michaux, then right onto Rue André Baudin, and then left onto Rue Traversière. At the end, turn right onto Rue du Petit Étang.

(3) At the T-junction, turn left onto Rue du Bois l'Abbé and at the next fork, turn right again onto Rue du Bois l'Abbé. Continue straight ahead, pass the Maison Forestière de Sains and follow the Route Forestière du Chemin Vert straight ahead. You are now in the heart of the Abbé Val Joly National Forest.

(4) Note the cycle path (return) and continue straight ahead until you reach a car park on the D963.

(5) Turn right onto the D963 and take the first road on the left.

(6) Follow this road, Route Forestière du Fond Saint-Jean. At the Y junction, turn right and pass the blockhouse.

(7) Cross the Pont du Fond Madame bridge and continue straight ahead on Route Forestière du Fond Saint-Jean until you reach the^first road on the left.

(8) Turn left onto Route Forestière de Champiau.

(9) At the Y junction, turn right onto Rue de Champiau, continue straight ahead and ignore the side roads.

(10) At the Y junction, turn right onto Rue de Champiau, pass Héripré, continue straight ahead, cross the bridge over the Helpe Majeure and arrive at the D133.

(11) Turn left, pass in front of the town hall, then take the^{first street} on the right, Chemin de la Fausse Terre, and you will reach a crossroad opposite a house.
(12) Turn left onto Rue de Beumont, then continue onto Rue des Beaux Monts. Cross the D133 and continue straight ahead onto Rue de l'Helpe.

(13) At the T-junction, turn left onto Rue Roger Salengro.

(14) At the crossroads near the church, turn right, pass in front of Liessies Town Hall and turn right onto Rue Clémenceau

(15) A few metres after No. 46 and the café-restaurant, take the greenway on the left towards Glageon. Pass Château de la Motte and follow the cycle path to Route Forestière du Chemin Vert, which you took earlier.

(4) Turn right and follow the same route back. After the Maison Forestière de Sains, turn left, pass the Ferme du Bois l'Abbé and then turn left onto Rue du Bois l'Abbé.

(3) Turn right onto Rue du Petit Étang, then left onto Rue Traversière, right onto Rue André Baudin and left onto Rue Roland Michaux.

(2) Continue right onto Rue Jules Hiroux, then straight ahead at the four-way intersection onto Rue Léo Lagrange.

(1) Turn left, then right onto Rue Edmond Wiart to reach Place du Général de Gaulle (S/E).
