Park in the car park at Place de l'Abbaye.
(S/E) From the car park, head towards the village church, go around it on the left via Rue de Montignies and you will soon find the path that starts on the left at the gable end of the restored farmhouse at No. 10.
(1) Follow the gently sloping path, go through two gates, reach a dead-end street and turn right. At the end of this street, turn left, go straight ahead and ignore the paths that branch off to the right. At the top of the hill, the asphalt gives way to a wide dirt track. Reach a large copse and go through it.
(2) At the end, turn left onto the path that descends towards the Thure. The path makes a right-angle turn, joins the right bank of the Thure and reaches a fork.
(3) Turn left and cross the river over the bridge (use the concrete edge and the bridge's guardrail to avoid the large puddles that can cover the entire width of the passage). Reach Rue de la Thure, cross it carefully and continue straight ahead into the gravel pit to reach a T-junction.
(4) Take the path on the right, which enters the woods via a steep climb. It turns left and runs alongside an old quarry that has become a wetland of biological interest . Do not cross the barbed wire fence that runs alongside the path and marks the edge of the quarry.
The path turns at a right angle and continues to the edge of the woods and a path that branches off to the left.
(5) Stay on the path and continue to a road.
(6) Follow it to the left and head towards an imposing farm. When you reach it, ignore a path to the right and continue, leaving the farm on your right. The road gives way to a dirt track and joins the Bois de Sorlre. Follow the beautiful forest path that continues straight ahead. You will reach a first signpost marking local hiking trails (green square and yellow square). Ignore the paths to the left and right, walk along a cleared plot surrounded by a fence and continue for about 500 m before reaching another signpost (green square and yellow square).
(7) Do not continue to follow the markings and turn right. Follow this path for about 150 metres and you will see a path on the left that leads back. Follow it to the left, join a path coming from the left and follow it to the right.
(8) The path makes a sharp turn to the left and follows the left bank of the Ruisseau des Branleux.
Cross this stream via a plank bridge and tackle the steep slope in front of you. Ignore the paths on the left and right and follow the trail which, after the summit, heads left and, after a steep descent, joins the left bank of Ruisseau des Vallées. The trail climbs and descends continuously and emerges from the woods onto a wider T-junction.
(9) Follow it to the right (alongside a scrapyard) to reach Rue de la Thure and follow it to the right. Pass two streets on the right, reach and cross the bridge over the Thure, then head for the car park on Place de l'Abbaye (S/E).
(in dry weather with dry ground, it must be a different story in winter or wet weather :p ) Thank you very much!
