Park in the car park near the fountain and follow the blue and yellow markings throughout; no particular difficulty.
(S/E) Pass in front of the wash house and continue uphill to reach a multi-way junction in the forest, near a picnic area.
(1) Keep straight ahead, continue along an almost flat path, then turn right to reach the Ferme de Bellevue.
(2) Turn right onto the road, then left, to reach the D15a. Follow it to the left to enter the village of Echay. Walk down the main street until you reach a roundabout.
(3) Turn right, then, on leaving the village, follow the signposts on the right towards the viewpoints. Enter the forest again to reach a hairpin bend on the D15.
(4) Turn right onto this road and follow it for a few hundred metres, then turn right onto the footpath to reach the Grands Ruins viewpoint.
(5) Continue northwards through the woods until you rejoin the D15a at a house. Follow it for a few metres until you reach another junction.
(6) Leave the D15a, turning right and then immediately left. Walk along the edge of a woodland, then enter it to return to the original junction at the picnic area.
(1) Take the path furthest to the left, marked by a sign depicting a hare. Follow a virtually level section to join a wider track at a place called Les Troubleaux.
(7) Turn right onto this track, then turn right again to leave it. After a short descent, you’ll reach the Croix de Cussey viewpoint.
(8) Make a circular loop to the left and, shortly afterwards, at the Grotte de l’Ermitage, rejoin the track you took earlier.
(9) Turn right onto this track to complete the descent and reach the car park at Cussey-sur-Lison (S/E).
