Chemin des Clos car park in Saint-Brès.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, head towards the cemetery where the yellow markings begin. Walk down to the Mas du de Charlouy and join the D904.
(1) Cross it and take the Chemin de la Source opposite, heading east, pass the Mas de Moure Nègre and arrive at a crossroads.
(2) Start the climb on the left via the road known as Chemin du Mas Brougnac.
(3) After the last houses, turn onto a dirt track that climbs to the left up to a small road.
(4) Follow it to the right towards some antennas.
(5) At the Goulet des Tribles signpost, follow the track opposite. At the fork, continue left along the track until you reach a path on the left.
(6) Leave the track for a footpath and follow this to the foot of the chapel.
(7) Turn left and head to the Chapelle Saint-Privat (explanations of its origins inside).
(8) Continue to the information board with a view over the Barjac valley.
(9) Retrace your steps.
(8) After the chapel, take the unmarked path on the left which descends gently at first and then quite steeply to the banks of the Clayse.
(10) Follow the riverbank to the right – the river should be flowing here – until you reach a path through the vineyards.
(11) Head up to the right through the vineyards and follow the path which turns left then right and comes to a crossroads.
(12) Follow the path to the left as far as La Coste.
(13) Ignore the track on the right, continue along the path which descends and joins a track. Continue to the right and arrive at a fork.
(14) Follow the track on the left and reach the Ruisseau de l'Ilette.
(15) Cross the ford and continue south-west. Pass another ford and reach the Bassargues track.
(16) Follow this track straight ahead, pass Graissol and arrive at the Saint-Brès Town Hall.
(17) Turn right then left into Rue du Pont and arrive at Rue d'Aubenas, D904.
(18) Cross it carefully at the pedestrian crossing, walk past the school and take Chemin des Clos to reach the car park (S/E).
