Description of the walk

Start: Perrusson town hall, Place du 8 Mai 1945.
Parking: car parks behind the church, Impasse de la Forge / Rue Saint-Pierre
Signs: Yellow

(S/E) From the car park behind the church, walk up Rue de l'Indre alongside the town hall and cross Place de la Mairie to the left. Walk down Avenue des Platanes, crossing in front of the bakery at the pedestrian crossing. Continue down the avenue and turn right into Rue des Glycines. Follow the road up to the roundabout.

(1) Turn left into Avenue des Tilleuls. At the three-way junction, turn left into Rue Jean-Louis Barrault. Follow this to the next junction, where you turn left. Cross the Ruisseau du Sourd and come to the end.

(2) Turn right into Rue du Prieuré and continue along this road until you reach the white path that runs alongside it.

(3) Continue along the white track towards the woods and, at each intersection, go straight on until you reach a road.

(4) Turn right onto this road. Go ahead and, at the top of a slight hill, take the path on the left through the fields until you reach a crossroads.

(5) Fork right until you reach the road. Cross the road and continue straight ahead on the track. At the crossroads, continue on the right-hand track until you reach the houses.

(6) Turn left onto the path alongside the first house. Follow this until you reach a road that leads to the nearby stables.

(7) Turn right onto the road and cross a stream. At the end, turn left onto another road until you reach a side road.

(8) Continue along this road to the right, then left towards l'Aulnaie. At the crossroads in the locality, turn right, still on the road. Cross a road and continue straight ahead on a track until you reach a fork in the middle of the fields.

(9) Keep to the right on this track. At the end, continue along the Rue des Hubardelleries, which runs alongside it. Continue straight ahead at the crossroads and then, at the junction, turn right to follow Avenue de la Pierruche for a few metres.

(10) Cross the avenue at the central reservation and follow the path opposite Rue des Hubardelleries. Go down the track to the end, then turn right. The track rises to the right. Follow it, cross the railway line and continue straight on until you reach Avenue de la Pierruche.

(11) Turn left and walk along the perimeter wall. Turn left into Rue de l'École and reach the car park (S/E).

Worth a visit

Les Prairies du Roy.
Classified as a Sensitive Natural Area by the Departmental Council, and managed by the Loches Sud Touraine Community of Municipalities, the Prairies du Roy are a major wetland along the Indre and the Beaulieu Canal. The site has been managed to open up the landscape, in particular by removing the poplar plantations, thus offering beautiful views over the towns of Loches and Beaulieu, and ensuring that biodiversity is maintained. Between these two towns, a circuit will allow you to discover the richness of the site, which can also be explored by canoe...
