Park your vehicle in the car park at the Vernet playground.
(S/E) From the car park, take the road heading north. At the first crossroads, ignore the first path on the left and continue straight ahead.
(1) Turn onto the second path on the right (towards a pile of stones) which heads straight east and joins a road.
(2) Cross it and continue along the path opposite. After 400 metres, turn left onto the first path that descends towards the road you crossed earlier. Cross it again and take the light gravel path opposite, which gradually climbs uphill.
(3) At the four-way crossroads, continue straight ahead towards La Durande.
(4) At the Y-junction, turn right. Go through two sharp bends and you will come to a crossroads.
(5) Turn left uphill. Ignore a path on the right, then on the left, and continue climbing towards the yellow direction signs.
(6) Just behind, follow the middle path on the left that climbs uphill to begin the ascent of La Durande. This path climbs steeply just before reaching the summit.
(7) After enjoying the view, descend La Durande by following the track on the other side of the slope. Stay on the main zigzagging path.
(8) At the cross, take the middle path that climbs between two rows of trees and follow the sign for Knoll de Combret. Pass close to a quarry.
(9) At the next junction, turn right and leave the forest. At the next crossroads (point 1163 on the map), turn right towards Col de la Pierre Taillée.
(10) Cross the D48 and take the path opposite, towards Montchaud. After a steep descent, at the junction with a road, turn left to join the D30.
(11). Follow it on the left. At the exit of the hamlet of Pouzols, directly below the power lines, turn left onto the path. Continue straight ahead at the next two intersections.
(13) Just before a right-hand bend, turn left onto the path.
(14) At the next fork, turn right and return to Vernet (S/E).

I have amended the description to specify that you need to turn right onto the second path and to mention the landmark (pile of stones at the entrance). Thank you.
