Departure from the village centre.
Take the steps down just before the restaurant "La vieille auberge". Walk along the playground, then past two houses. Just after (1), turn left onto a tarmac path and take the left-hand fork. Continue downhill until you reach a wider tarmac road, where you turn left. After the house, at the crossroads where the path becomes grassy, continue straight ahead. After 1 km, the path turns right (2) (do not continue straight ahead) to reach the Planchette stream, which you cross by fording. Continue to the Treuil cave and then reach the D589.
Follow the departmental road to the left, descending for 600 metres (caution: walk on the left on the cycle lane in single file facing the traffic). Inside the fourth bend, take a clearly visible path that climbs to the right(3). Almost immediately, turn right (4) to continue the climb (do not continue straight ahead on the flat path). Continue climbing along a path through the woods, then out into the open onto the plateau. The climb continues along a path between the fields. Ignore all the paths that branch off to the left to return to the D301.
Take this road on the right and follow it for a few hundred metres. Just before a house on the left, take the path that descends to the right (5). It joins a small stream which you cross by fording to climb back up and reach the road again at the entrance to Saint-Privat-d'Allier. Just after the bend, take a path that climbs to the left (6) and leads to a road at the three crosses. Go down this road on the right to return to the starting point.
