Coming from Briançon, drive through Monêtier-les-Bains and park in the last car park on the right.
(S/E) Leave the car park at the top and turn right onto Rue Saint Joseph. Then join Rue du Puy Chevalier and turn left.
(1) Pass the Rotonde thermal spring. Continue uphill until the paved road becomes a dirt track. Continue to the junction of two tracks.
Turn right. Sign for La Moulette. At the next embankment, the track becomes a path and climbs up through magnificent switchbacks in the larch trees. At a switchback bend, you will reach a new crossroads.
(2) Keep left and follow a steady, easy climb to the crossroads at the Sainte Anne chapel.
(3) Ignore this path and continue to the right. You will reach a forest hut. Go past the hut, close the gate blocking the path and reach the mountain pasture overlooking the Guisane valley. Continue to the hamlet of Puy du Cros, where the chapel has been restored.
(4) Descend into the valley, cross the Moulette torrent on the footbridge and arrive at the hamlet of Puy Jaumar.
(5) Continue downhill and cross the stream again on another footbridge. Continue until you reach a Y-shaped crossroads.
(6) Take the left path to reach the entrance to Monêtier. Ignore the main path and take the one on the left marked "Autour du Village" (Around the Village). Continue along this path and then through the narrow streets of Monêtier to reach the car park (S/E) without any problems.
