A short hike starting from Les Baraques in Vercors (end of the old Route des Goulets).
Karstic cave Royer via Serre Plumé
Out of curiosity, I mapped out this route when I discovered that a karstic cave bears the same name as me. This route winds through the Lente forest and offers beautiful views of the Vassieux en Vercors valley and the Grand Veymont. And for those with a sweet tooth, you can enjoy wild raspberries, wild strawberries and, more rarely, blueberries along the way.
Serre Plumé
This route offers wonderful views of the Grand Veymond. It takes you through forests, over ridges and across rolling plains known as "Pelouses".
Jasse du Play refuge
This hike will allow you to discover or rediscover the beautiful high plateaus of the Vercors with its forests and meadows. There are many trails, some of which are unmarked, but it is still possible and permitted to use them if you follow the park's instructions.

Serre Plumé via the Pelouse de Bournette at the start of the Col de la Chau.
A magnificent hike that subtly combines forest and meadow passages. You walk and pass easily from one path to a forest track, or vice versa, thanks to the numerous signposts.
As for the views, you can choose between the entrance to the Pelouse de Bournette, the bird's eye view of the Scialets Royer, the view of the Combe de Loscence and the fabulous 360° view from the summit of Serre Plumé.
This is an easy hike, with only the start of the climb to the summit of Serre Plumé reminding you that you are on a mountain hike.
Vassieux-en-Vercors loop via Font d'Urle
A lovely, varied loop, alternating between tracks, trails and a few roads, with breathtaking views of Vassieux-en-Vercors and the surrounding area from the Crête des Gagères. Lots of forest sections, including a crossing of the Chaud Clapier ski resort.
Frochet caves
The Frochet caves are a cavity where a small lake has formed. Be sure to bring a headlamp to enjoy them. This hike is quick, the lower part of the route is easy, but the end of the route is quite steep on a narrow path.
The ridges of Font D'Urle
A relatively easy short hike on the Font d'Urle plateau. Magnificent scenery on the Ambel plateau, the Quint valley, the Trois Becs, the Glandasse, the Vercors mountain range and the whole of southern Drôme.

On the high plateaus of the Vercors via the Plaine de la Chau
This easy hike will take you to the high plateaus of the Vercors, between forests and meadows, on well-marked but sometimes unmarked trails. A little controlled adventure! An easy circular loop to do in any season, but no car access to the car park in winter.
Marquis Mill - Devil's Gate
This is a lovely little hike, with a trail that takes you to the middle of a cliff overlooking the Bournillon cirque 400 metres below, offering magnificent views of the Bourne gorges. This route allows you to discover the springs of the Moulin Marquis, the Grotte des Gaulois and the Porte du Diable, a natural limestone arch.
The total elevation gain for this hike is around 200 metres.
The Virgin of Vercors
A walk, rather than a hike, through the Herbouilly forest to a distinctive rock, the Vierge du Vercors.
The Pas de la Sambue and Château Julien, in the heart of the Vercors
After crossing the Herbouilly plain, this circuit climbs up to the Pas de la Sambue and then joins the Château Julien plateau via the Malaterre karstic cave. Nestled in the heart of the northern Vercors, it offers a glimpse of a key site of the Resistance and the karstic landscape of the Vercors. Superb view from the Château Julien viewpoint.

Corrençon loop via Herbouilly
This fairly varied loop between Corrençon and Herbouilly (two of the gateways to the Nordic ski area with Bois Barbu) takes you along wide forest tracks and more peaceful forest paths. In places (at the start and finish), it runs alongside the golf course and roller ski tracks. It reaches its highest points at Pas de l'Âne and Pas de la Sambue. It passes the Roybon inn and the Herbouilly cross-country ski centre before taking the Pas Saint-Martin path and crossing the Herbouilly plain. On the way back, don't miss the view of the Grande and Petite Moucherolle, the Tête des Chaudières and the ski slopes of Villard-de-Lans and Corrençon-en-Vercors.

Please note: During the summer months, there are numerous herds and patous (shepherd dogs).
Even dogs on a leash are prohibited by the department from 1 June to 30 October.
Close the gates to the animal enclosures securely.
From Font d'Urle to Puy de la Gagère via the plateau and the La Chau memorial
Enjoy a change of scenery on the rugged limestone plateau and meadows. Then take a leap into the history of the Resistance.
Tour of Font d'Urle via Col de Font Payanne and Puy de la Gagère
From Les Cerisiers, the hike follows the GRP® Tour du Vercors Dromois, then the GR®93 to the village of Font d'Urle. The climb up to Puy de la Gagère takes you through a pretty deciduous forest. Near the village of Font d'Urle, the route takes the Sentier du Karst (not very well signposted) and climbs up to the viewpoint: the GPX track will be very useful, as there are many paths with no signposts. The hike continues along the edge of the cliff via the Pas du Follet. After a final, slightly steep climb, head back towards Puy de la Gagère to return to the starting point, following the same path in reverse. With a bit of luck, you may spot marmots and eagles on the Font d'Urle plateau, as well as sheep, cows and horses grazing in the pastures.

Valchevrière, evoking the Resistance in Le Vercors
A very short walk, but the ruins of Valchevrière are the remains of one of the key sites of the Resistance in Vercors.
This hamlet served as a camp for the Resistance fighters and was burned to the ground on 23 July 1944 by the Nazis. Only the chapel was spared.
Allow 1 to 1½ hours for the visit to the hamlet.

A very pleasant circular in the Bois Barbu area. These woods, located opposite the Villard-de-Lans resort, offer beautiful snowshoe walks, made even easier by excellent signage. The proposed circular is No. 2, which connects the Auberge de la Glisse in Bois Barbu to the Malaterre Refuge.
