In La Bresse (centre), there is a small car park on Rue de la Clairie, opposite the Hôtel des Vallées (on the other side of the Moselotte).
(S/E) Turn left onto Rue de la Clairie, then go up Rue du Hohneck to the right for about 200 metres and turn left onto Rue de Moyenmont.
(1) After 100 metres, you will find the start of the trail on your right: marked with a green rectangle (GR® 533) and also a green triangle.
Continue straight ahead, ignoring the various paths that branch off on both sides. After a steep 1.6 km climb, you will arrive at the path to Moyenmont.
(2) Continue to the right on a wider path, keeping straight ahead, and pass Pré Jacquot.
(3) At an intersection, take the path on the right marked small pass de l'Étang and continue to the Chalet du small pass de l'Étang.
(4) Then, still on the right, take the path marked with a yellow triangle towards Les Champis via the ridge. After 2.8 km, this path will take you to the beautiful Chaume des Champis. Continue on the right along a small unmarked path to reach the Champis viewpoint.
(5) Here you can enjoy panoramic views of the Route des Crêtes, the Hautes Chaumes and the La Bresse-Hohneck ski resort.
Continue for about 700 m on the right, then straight ahead towards the Rouge Feigne bog, a beautiful peat bog where you can see several species of rare plants.
(6) Continue straight ahead until you reach a path marked Anneau Rouge. Pass by the Club Vosgien shelter.
(7) Shortly afterwards, you will find the start of the Sentier Dielaine trail on your left. Take the trail and, at the start of the descent, leave it on your right and head towards Les Feignes-sous-Vologne to take the left (marked Anneau Rouge and Vert) towards Lispach. Please note that this trail is very technical, with several rocky sections equipped with handrails. Follow this steep trail and after a good hour, you will reach the ski jump and Lac de Lispach.
(8) After a short detour to the shelter by the lake, follow the boardwalk along the edge of the lake. A small observatory is currently being built to view the lake and its peat bog and should be completed soon.
At the end of the lake, turn right and join the Ehlinger path, which you will follow on the left. The path gives way to a small road at a place called Les Bas Viaux. Take the first road on the right and pass in front of the World Cup chalet. Here begins the long climb of about an hour to Grouvelin. Find a path going straight up in front of you (Chemin de Noire Basse).
(9) After 150 metres, the Grouvelin trail (marked with a white rectangle on a green background) branches off to the left and leads to La Roche Feranti.
(10) Cross the path and continue on the trail towards Grouvelin (be careful to take the path on the right, which runs parallel to the uphill path). When you reach the upper path (marked with a green ring), take it on the left for 200 metres and you will find the path to Grouvelin (green ring) branching off to the right.
(11). Continue to the Grouvelin inn.
(12) Turn left onto the path towards La Bresse, follow the red triangle markings, pass La Roche des Bioquets
(13) Shortly afterwards, on the left (red triangle), begin the descent to La Bresse. Follow the path that leads to the Col de Grosse Pierre on the D486.
(14) Take the road on the left for a few metres, then the first road on the right after the bridge over the RD486. After 400 m, descend on the left along the wide stony road towards the granite quarries and find the start of the path towards La Bresse (well marked with red triangles).
(15) Turn right and you will come to a junction with two options.
(15) Turn left (red triangle) and continue to the D486. Follow it to the right for about 250 metres, then leave it and turn left onto a path that joins the Chemin des Rives and continues along the Rue du Chajoux. You will arrive back at the starting point at La Bresse after crossing the Rue du Hohneck (S/E).
