(S) Start from the Route des Crêtes, at the car park at the foot of the Hohneck.
Take the road that climbs towards the Hohneck for a few metres, then take the first path on the right. You will reach a first junction.
(1) Head straight on towards the Wormsawald Valley and Lake Schiessrothried, following the Blue Rectangle markings. This mule track winds its way down through the rocks and reaches Lake Schiessrothried.
(2) Cross the Schiessrothried Lake dam and head straight on along theGR®® trail, which climbs through the forest towards the Schiessroth inn. Reach the inn.
(3) Head towards Gaschney by taking the small road that descends towards the Alsatian side, following the red-white-red Red Rectangle markings, until you reach the hamlet of Gaschney. Pass under the chairlift.
(4) Take the path on the left which climbs towards the Petit Hohneck
(5) Pass under a second chairlift and go round the Petit Hohneck to the north.
(6) At the crossroads of paths, start the climb westwards towards the Hohneck and its orientation table.
(7) Descend along the path running parallel to the road and return to the first junction at the start.
(1) Take the outward route on the right to return to the car park (E).
